The National Focal Point in the field of drugs and drug addictions is a unit founded with a decision of the National Drug Council and with the order of the Minister of Health as a part of the implementation of the National Anti-Drugs Strategy 2003-2008.

NFP is based in the National Centre for Addictions and is the official partner of the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addictions (EMCDDA) on the behalf of the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as a participant in the European Network for Information in the field of drugs (REITOX).
