Aims and purposes

Under the Law on Control of Drugs and Precursors are created Municipal Drugs Councils (MDC). Functions and tasks are defined in the Rules for the organization and operation of the National Drug Council.

According to the Rules Municipal Drugs Councils:

1. Develop and adopt local programs to combat drug abuse and drug trafficking in accordance with national programs under Article 11, item 2 of NDPCA.
2. Offered to municipal councils draft budget for the conduct of municipal policy in this area;
3. Report their activities to the National Drugs Council;
MDC gradually grow in their development and take an important place as a horizontal element in the fight against drugs. Until now are created 27 Municipal Drugs Councils.
