A working meeting was held on 2 November 2007 in the building of the National Center on Drug Addictions with representatives of PIC and Municipal Drug Councils on the theme: ‘Organization of investigations at the municipal level’.
The participants in the meeting were introduced to the main issues and phases of conducting studies for the evaluation of problematic users of narcotic substances under the CAPTURE-RECAPTURE method, as well as addicts among pupils and the general population.
Considered were the general organizational plans for future projects and more specifically – the available capacity of each and every municipality, the necessary funds and the sources of financing individual studies.
The process was started of building the interaction between coordinators from the National Focal Point on Drugs and Drug Addictions and representatives of the municipalities in Varna, Plovdiv, Bourgas, Pleven, Pernik, Pazardjik, Vidin, Montana, Smolyan, Blagoevgrad, Shoumen and Sofia on the preparation and conduct of future studies among the general population, the pupils and evaluation research on problematic users of narcotic substances under the CAPTURE-RECAPTURE method.
